Introduction to is an Asi@Connect Grant awarded to Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) and Lao Education Research NETwork (LERNET) under the project name "Connecting Bhutan and Laos through Digital Bridges to Enhance Human Capital". It aims to build digital bridges to enhance human capital of Bhutan and Lao. The project also focuses on a new platform to exchange ideas and experiences during and after this project period which will play a crucial role in the continuity of the collaboration. Read more !

Objective 1

To facilitate the development of human capacity in key areas of specialisation in ICT to address inadequate capacity in two beneficiary Countries.

Objective 2

To enhance capacity of ICT professionals, IT faculty and Engineers with “Train the Trainers” for long-term sustainability.

Objective 3

To improve digital literacy skills through ICT essential courses for schools and universities in order to bridge the digital divide.

Objective 4

To address relevant cross-cutting issues by providing access to information through enhanced use of the network.

Objective 5

To provide and enhance the accessibility of services through wireless connectivity in the remote schools / colleges.

Project's Model and Activities


In total, 184 participants from Bhutan and Laos will be beneficial from the project's workshops and activities. These do not include high school lecturers and students who have access to the digital world via our supporting devices.
